Travelling to Austria: COVID-19 Prevention and Control Guidelines

We are planning all the in-presence conference activities with safety in mind and we would like to share with you all the general guidelines for the COVID-19 prevention and control.

What to know before travelling to Austria
  1. Keep yourself updated with the latest news and regulations regarding entry requirements into Austria. You can find information about entry requirements and Pre-Travel-Clearance (PTC) at https://entry.ptc.gv.at/en.html.
  2. In order to ensure the greatest possible safety for all the participants of the ISM 2021, you will be asked to provide a valid EU-full vaccination certificate or recovery certificate from SARS-CoV-2 issued in German or English language upon the registration at the conference. On-site participation with only “tested” status is not possible.
  3. Please DO NOT attend the event if you notice an acute respiratory infection (with or without fever) with symptoms such as cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, upper respiratory catarrh, sudden loss of sense of smell or taste, or if you have been in contact with persons with COVID-19 symptoms.
At the event
The on-site activities of the ISM 2021 will take place under highly hygienic standards to ensure the greatest safety of the participants during all stages of the event (commuting with shuttle bus transfer, sessions, breaks, luncheons and coffee breaks, gala dinner). However, there are very important guidelines that all in-presence participants should follow:
  • Participants should respect the social distancing measures and it will be mandatory to wear the mask in the conference areas. The shared areas and hallways are designed to ensure greater social distancing and smooth flow, and sufficient signals and help from the organizing staff will be at your immediate disposal.
  • All participation rooms will be adequately ventilated and each room will operate with a reduced capacity. The maximum number of attendants will be indicated and available seats will be a priori indicated.
  • Participants are asked to wash their hands often and cover coughs and sneezes. Room will be cleaned frequently, and the seats specified to the participants will be sanitized. Hand sanitizers will be provided in the rooms and conference areas.
  • Luncheons, coffee breaks and gala dinner will be served with full compliance with the government guidelines.
  • Last but not least, we ask the attendees to monitor their health daily and be alert for symptoms. Conference in-presence attendees should uphold a responsible behavior also outside the conference venue.
