The present work, developed in cooperation with University of Genoa and Liophant Simulation Club, focuses on the application of discrete event simulation for studying a logistic platform devoted to support retail business, located on the Ligurian coast (Italy). The supply chain is made up by one distribution center, 7 suppliers and 10 customers. The objective of the project is the evaluation of the effect of two factors (trucks downtime at the distribution center and security factor on the estimated delivery time) on the mean service level provided to customers. |
