DATA MANAGEMENT TO IMPROVE CPN SIMULATION PERFORMANCE, Miguel Mujica, Miquel Angel Piera

This paper presents recent developments and improvements of a Coloured Petri Net Simulator tool. The improvements were obtained after integrating some search techniques for the opening of the coverability tree and improving the transition evaluation algorithm. This tool was coded integrating some principles taken from constraint logic programming for the transition evaluation as well as some search algorithms which improved the speed of search through the states space.

A SERVICE-BASED CONTROL ENGINE FOR THE DISTRIBUTED EXECUTION OF PETRI NETS AND ITS APPLICATION TO WORKFLOW MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS, Franco Cicirelli, Angelo Furfaro, Libero Nigro

This paper proposes PN-Engine, an original service-based control engine for the distributed execution of systems formalized by Petri nets. Net execution is achieved by registering listeners to transitions and by triggering activities or jobs on transition firings. A key feature of PN-Engine is the absence of a centralized entity which controls net evolution. All of this naturally allows an exploitation of concurrency and nondeterminism aspects typical of Petri net models. The applicability of PNEngine is demonstrated in the domain of Workflow Management Systems. In particular, the paper describes a developed case study relevant to the management of patient flows in a hospital context.

PROPOSAL FOR AN INNOVATIVE APPROACH FOR MODELLING GOODS FLOWS IN RETAIL STORES
, Agostino Bruzzone, Enrico Bocca, Simonluca Poggi

The paper proposes an approach for estimating the impact of sale losses in supermarkets by creating models able to quantify the effect of logistics and organization on customer satisfaction. The authors included a conceptual model for

reproducing the different aspects related to this problem.

INFERENCE TECHNIQUE BASED ON PRECEDENTS IN KNOWLEDGE BASES OF INTELLIGENCE SYSTEMS, Boris Evgenievich Fedunov

The problem of a decision of the current problem on the basis of the precedents appears in the engineering and in the medicine. So in the medicine the sick are treated for an illness on the basis of the precedents. In aviations when is using the group of airplanes for decision of the certain problem appears a necessary for the operative choice of strategies of their behaviors.
